Northern Santa Clara Valley Model

Derrik Williams developed the groundwater flow model of the Northern Santa Clara Valley .  The model allowed the Santa Clara Valley Water District to analyze optional water storage and groundwater pumping strategies.  The modeling effort required re-interpreting the hydrostratigraphy of the Valley, developing a water budget for the basin, analyzing and reducing water level data from over 1,500 wells. The final model is presently used by the SCVWD for water planning activities.
